Frustrated by the lack of awareness around 'clean' nail brands (chemical ≠ toxic) and feeling limited to either mass produced or celebrity backed nail brands that just didn't feel authentic, Lauren Yavor, the creator of popular nail blog 'Lauren's List' created elle polish while embarking on a journey towards healthier nail care. She hopes that these polishes become your go-to essentials, that will not only look good on your nails but on your vanity, too.

self-care with no compromises

We offer a simple, healthier alternative to traditional nail care that you can feel good about wearing. With a mindful approach, elle polishes are all hand-crafted with consciously sourced ingredients. Every shade is carefully curated by Lauren, and individually tested for the perfect opacity and finish.

are we considered 'non-toxic'?

Yes! At the end of the day, clean polish is mostly about the inhalation risk. All nail polishes are made from chemicals, but 'chemical' does not mean 'toxic', it simply means that it's something that can be defined by the science of chemistry. Toxic, however, means poisonous. There are way more than 3 hard-to-pronounce ingredients (the toxic trio) on most traditional nail polish labels, and no governmental regulation on which, and how many, chemical omissions warrant a 'non-toxic' label. Plus, many companies claim to be free of ingredients that are not typically used in making nail polish.

While it’s impossible to be 100% chemical-free when developing nail polish, we aim to keep our products as clean as possible so we have developed the cleanest nail polish formula without compromising on colour payoff or functionality so that you can continue being good to yourself and your nails!
